seafoam for outboard 2 stroke
« on: April 19, 2011, 06:17:00 AM »

Who has done this?  I want to clean out carbon and carbs and after reading some on boat forums I've seen seafoam highly recommended.  Some people mix up the seafoam with fuel/oil in a 5 gallon tank and run the motor from it until empty.  Others spray seafoam into the carbs.

What are your thoughts and suggestions on this.
BTW  115 Johnson outboard.

I've done it on vehicles, but no boats... don't see where it would be any different

*EDIT*
Let me be more specific...

I've never mixed it in with the oil, just did it through the vacuum line and gas. If mixing in with oil, it is recommended to do an oil change after you are done.

Wait to do it until the wind is blowing toward that neighbor you don't like... it will be entertaining  ;D
